In this presentation, Anne Kallerud from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) discusses a descriptive study on the development and closure times of growth plates (physes) in the cervical spines of foals. The research focuses on identifying and timing the closure of various growth centers, with a particular emphasis on the neurocentral synchondrosis (NCS); a physis located between the neural arch and the vertebral body that has been largely overlooked in veterinary literature.
